blackledge falling into the majikal cave we go, the macabre, the sweet, all the tones of echo are represented here, bouncing, cascading, in and out, around this new consciousness we fly deeper.

Anthony Childs A voluminous cloud difficult to measure with words or describe its effect but fully felt resistance, pressure and weight as you move through it. What devotion to a life can feel/sound like. Loss gained sometimes equal to love lost. Sometimes greater. Wax and wane. Presence you still feel in opposition to absence usurping that space. Always here, gone forever. A map of circles, cycles, & connections. A topography of shared secrets, contradictions & separations. Favorite track: Weighted.

about

Karen Vogt - WATERLOG is a 7-track album written and recorded in three improvisational sessions just after Karen's beloved cat, LUIS, passed away. It's a delicate tone journal about pet grief, tears, and floods of emotions.

Vogt explains, “I cried so much during that time. I felt frustrated by my grief, and by how emotional I am when I give myself space to feel. I literally felt like I was waterlogged and weighed down with tears.”

Melancholic, and improvisational, WATERLOG is a shimmering study in blue monochrome created with distant voice loops and dreamlike wavering synths.
